Transportation
I believe this is the number one
issue, facing District One and the
remainder of Lake County. It's not
only important to maintain the
existing infrastructure; we also need
to plan for the growth we are facing.
Not only should we focus on the
county roads, we need to work with
our state legislators and find ways to
improve our state highways and
public transportation.

Economic Development
Not only is it important for the county to
expand economic development, it's
extremely vital to find creative ways to
keep business from leaving the county
and state. Lake County Partners has
been working with the county and they
have made great strides with business
retention and attracting new business,
but we need to continue to build on this
progress.

Environment
District One is so fortunate to have the
Chain O' Lakes as well as many other
lakes in the district. Let's not look back
and wish we did more to protect this
wonderful resource. We need to do all
we can to protect our lakes and the
surrounding environment in our district
and all of Lake County.

Forest Preserves
With the latest purchase of 261 acres
of Forest Preserve property off of
Route 45, this gives our district 2,148
acres of forest preserve with a total
of nine properties.
We have been so fortunate in our
district to have acquired this amount
of property in the past few years.
There are future plans to link some
of the properties and this is a project
I would embrace and will work to
help make this happen.
